This strategic and tactical role blends deep technical expertise with product management skills to drive complex migration projects from conception to successful implementation.You will serve as the critical bridge between technical implementation teams, business stakeholders, and scientific community end users, ensuring that scientific computing workloads maintain integrity and performance while aligning with business priorities. Working closely with engineering leaders, engineering teams, product teams, and external vendors you will define the technical requirements and migration strategy while navigating the specialized needs of scientific computing in regulated industries. Your ability to balance enterprise technology concerns with stakeholder and end-user needs will be essential to the success of these migrations.Responsibilities:Able to balance the demands as a strategic driver and tactical contributor, blending high-level product leadership with hands-on execution, requiring both vision and day-to-day ownership of key deliverables and written requirementsCreate and maintain a comprehensive migration roadmap that outlines stages, dependencies, and release schedules for standalone applicationsCollaborate with client engineering teams to architect and design migration strategies and technical structuresDefine, document, and prioritise clear technical and business requirements for application migrationsSupport architectural design and technical planning efforts, ensuring solutions meet both business and technical needsWork closely with engineers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful deliveryNavigate complex technical ecosystems and manage cross-functional dependenciesLead requirements gathering sessions with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAssist in establishing migration documentation and knowledge transfer strategiesHelp prioritise migration efforts based on business value, technical constraints, and client directivesFacilitate communication between external application vendors and client teams during the migration processUnderstand and document specific HPC workload requirements during migration planningCollaborate with engineers to develop migration strategies that maintain HPC performance benchmarksEnsure HPC applications maintain required computational performance when migrated to cloud infrastructureBalance performance needs with cloud cost optimization for compute-intensive applicationsCoordinate with client teams on HPC resource allocation and scheduling requirementsRequirements:Essential5+ years of experience in technical product management or similar rolesExpertise with Agile methodologies and product development lifecycleAbility to run Discovery workshops for functional and non-functional requirements gatheringDemonstrated background in cloud migration projects, preferably with GCPTechnical foundation in software development (preferably full-stack) or equivalent knowledge and experienceStrong understanding of containerisation (Docker), Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructureExperience with application migration strategies and implementationFamiliarity with database migrations and administrationKnowledge of API integration and development practicesExperience working with enterprise applications (especially a bonus if high-performance computing environments)Excellent communication skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinkingAdaptability and resilience to thrive in ambiguous, evolving project environmentsDemonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and challenging interpersonal dynamicsExperience with HPC environments and understanding of specialized computational workloadsKnowledge of parallel computing principles and distributed systems architectureFamiliarity with batch processing systems and job schedulers used in HPC environmentsUnderstanding of performance benchmarking and optimization techniques for compute-intensive applicationsWhile the talent scarcity within IT is at an all-time high and still growing, Xebia sticks to the mission of “aiming for thought leadership”, thus working with the best professionals in the market.At Xebia, you will get the chance to work with passionate professionals within their field of expertise.
