Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic High School SS Teacher to join our team at Rafa Nadal International, managed by The Academy International School, based in Manacor on the beautiful island of Mallorca, Spain.

RNS can be found within the grounds of the Rafa Nadal Academy. RNS is a vibrant Anglo-American co-educational school focused on bringing out the best in each student, with a philosophy based on the broadest sense of “education.” We create a happy working atmosphere where every child feels a sense of belonging and every individual is an important part of the whole.

Teachers at RNS encourage positive attributes in each child while identifying weaknesses and providing support. We follow a student-centered approach, ensuring that each child is happy in school, develops a love of learning, and gains confidence and security that will last a lifetime.

We provide a high-quality Anglo-American international education for boys and girls aged 3 to 18 years. The British Primary School, Nursery through Year 6, and American middle and high school, Grade 6 through Grade 12, are all delivered in English by experienced teachers. Our diverse school community fosters a happy, warm, and supportive learning environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

The duties of the teacher may include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

  1. Instruction:
    • Providing instruction to students in grades 6 to 12 as requested.
    • Supporting school-wide instructional initiatives.
    • Gathering student data through observation, dialogue, and testing tools, and designing strategies to meet student needs.
    • Remaining current with American standards and other instructional requirements.
    • Supporting student learning through thoughtful planning and sound classroom management practices.
    • Staying informed on the latest trends in relevant education and instruction.
    • Strong IT skills are necessary, including technology in the classroom and learning platforms such as Google Classroom.
  2. Assessment:
    • Assessing student progress and maintaining updated grade books.
    • Drafting report cards and assisting in conducting school-wide benchmark assessments.
  3. Other Duties:
    • Effectively communicating with school administrators, teachers, student service personnel, and parents regarding student performance.
    • Participating in school meetings as needed.
    • Supporting students and administration in Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support philosophy.
    • Assisting in orientation and open classes as needed.
    • Modelling non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
    • Performing other job-related functions as may be assigned.
    • Serving as Team Leader if requested.
    • Setting professional standards (dress, punctuality, etc.).
  4. Community-Based Learning Initiatives:
    • Assisting in the delivery of a curriculum that utilizes community resources to enrich the learning experiences of students.
