Job Description

She or he will be the point of contact with the AIV, Operations and Software teams. The candidate will also be responsible for code debugging and supporting the software teams with hardware.

She or he will develop automated operational procedures for our satellites and space systems.

Moreover, the candidate will also be responsible for assisting different teams that require software support.

Finally, the applicant will be involved in different projects to contribute to the implementation, validation, and verification of the software requirements related to the space segment.

Position Tasks and Responsibilities

The following tasks will be assigned:

  • Automation of tests and procedures.
  • Debugging of software and hardware issues.
  • Providing hardware support to the Software team.
  • Supporting the AIV and Operations teams.
  • Defining and implementing processes for software quality.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications or Electronics Engineering is required.

Necessary experience and skills include:

  • 1 year of experience in Software QA or similar debugging roles.
  • Proficiency in C, Java, or other high-level languages.
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or equivalent.

The following qualifications and skills are also desirable:

  • Experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.)
  • Familiarity with hardware design tools such as Altium, KiCad, Eagle, etc.
  • Experience with Python.

Strong communication skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively and independently, while collaborating within a potentially international and culturally diverse team.

Additionally, solid analytical, organizational, and reporting skills are needed, combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving and an interest in technology development.

Eligibility to work and reside in the EU is mandatory.

Alén Space is a New Space company focused on the development of missions based on Nanosatellites as well as products and services related to them. Our mission is to help our clients develop their business plan by designing, manufacturing, and operating satellites in order to execute the applications they need.

While Alén Space is a new company, our team has been involved in several complete nanosatellite missions, from specification to delivery, during the last 15 years. Alén Space's technical team is composed of systems engineers, electronic engineers, AIV engineers, software and operations engineers, and project managers; with extensive experience in IOD, communication, commercial, and scientific missions, with private and public institutions such as the European Space Agency.

At Alén Space, quality and flexibility in design, manufacturing, and testing are hallmarks of the company. The quality of the process is achieved through meticulous testing and verification processes, keeping traceability of all executed activities.
