About the Role

Our client, an international advisory firm focused solely on sustainability, is looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic, and talented Environmental and Permitting Managing Consultant.

Barcelona or Madrid (Spain)

Functions

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant with experience in Project Management and environmental impact assessment to join our growing Capital Project Delivery team in Spain. The job will be offered as a full-time, hybrid work position with the possibility to work from our Madrid or Barcelona office and remotely. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Develop Prefeasibility and Environmental & Social Impact Assessment studies, permitting studies, EDD (mainly focused on the Italian market).
  2. Manage environmental critical aspects to ensure compliance with all applicable Spanish regulations.
  3. Ability and flexibility to work across a range of services and sectors including Energy (Renewables, Power, Oil & Gas, H2), Infrastructure, CCSU, and Manufacturing.
  4. Support in managing or coordinating small-sized projects or whole elements of larger multidisciplinary or global projects.
  5. Deliver multiple project tasks or components, including the development of proposals.
  6. Supervising project team(s) and mentoring junior personnel.
  7. Establishing strong working relationships with clients through project delivery.
  8. Supporting with commercial activities: Business Development, proposals writing, and pitching.
About You

• A master’s degree in environmental engineering or environmental sciences or other relevant disciplines.
• Experience as a project manager and generating revenues.
• Experience in people leadership.
• Ideally 7 years of experience in relevant fields such as consulting or environmental services, with specific focus on environmental permitting in Spain, EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) and/or Environmental Social Due Diligence.
• Familiarity with International Standards (IFC, EBRD, etc.).
• Proficiency in Spanish and English, written and spoken. French will be considered an advantage.
• Experience with emerging energy systems (hydrogen, offshore wind, battery storage, floating solar) will be considered a plus.
