The Opportunity

What you'll do

  • Enhance and optimize our existing Go-based healthcare platforms.
  • Devise and implement services and components utilizing Go for cloud-based platforms.
  • Develop low-latency, high-volume services for a global healthcare platform.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to create and integrate APIs empowering users to share and utilize their medical data within partner systems.
  • Construct unit testable, easily maintainable code ensuring high security standards.
  • Work closely with InfoSec to develop and implement secure solutions.
  • Engage with internal and external team members to define and shape API contracts.
  • Introduce fresh ideas and perspectives in collaboration with the data services team.
  • Maintain high code quality standards and thoughtful design to ensure performance, uptime, and scalability.
  • Contribute to pivotal architectural and operational decisions in coordination with the Architecture team.
  • Establish internal tools and APIs to streamline business and engineering processes, fostering efficiency and safety.
  • Implement systemic changes aligning existing systems with current architectural objectives.
  • Create comprehensive diagrams, flowcharts, and models illustrating the internal design and workflow of solution components.
  • Participate actively as a dedicated member of an agile team, realizing features through development, testing, and delivery.
  • Engage in technical planning, design, and code reviews, including peer code review of Pull Requests.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, offering recommendations as necessary to drive organizational innovation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with data design and database technologies like SQL Server, Postgres, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Go software development. Sound understanding of idiomatic Go, concurrency in Go, the Go ecosystem, and related tools and frameworks.
  • Experience contributing to the scalability and design of existing/new systems that are highly available and easy to maintain/monitor.
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing complex asynchronous messaging and backend processing tasks.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of working with and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a high-performance team environment.
  • Adept at asynchronous collaboration within a distributed team.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Openness to learn new software development languages to achieve set goals and objectives.
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science and software development coupled with a willingness to contribute beyond one's experience level.
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an agile setting.
  • Practical understanding of Linux.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes/Docker or similar container services.
  • Background in open-source software development.
  • Experience with observability and profiling tools such as Open Telemetry or pprof.
