Lead Privacy Counsel EMEA

Our client is a major international medical technology company who now seek a privacy counsel to help oversee and manage privacy in EMEA.
Reporting to the VP and DPO Privacy, the role will be responsible for privacy and data protection strategy in EMEA with a focus on, but not limited to, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its implementation as well as data security, cyber, data breaches, requests and AI. It will also manage a team of 4 professionals based in UK, France, Turkey and Poland.
You will be a lawyer (or at least have a law degree) and have experience of developing and implementing a privacy programme in Europe, ideally in more than one country and with another life sciences company that works with patient related data, although other sectors can be considered. Experience of working with a matrixed multinational company will also be beneficial, as will any people management exposure.
The company operates a hybrid model and ideally the role will be based in Germany (Heidelberg), Belgium (Erembodegem), France (Grenoble), Italy (Milan) or Spain (close to Madrid).
