Service delivery: Far - Site, Seville

The services shall be performed remotely in Far - Site location within the EU.

VASS, in partnership with the European Commission, is currently seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work remotely.

Job Description:

Production of indicators and analyses for the EU ́s rural areas with a particular focus on innovation and entrepreneurship indicators (innovation activities, innovation framework conditions, innovation investments, and innovation impacts); Territorial analysis of land use, population and accessibility applied to policy options assessment; Definition and preparation of policy scenarios applied in Europe; Integration of thematic datasets (demographic, socioeconomic and environmental data) into the modelling platform; Validation of the model results via computation of territorial indicators; Contribution to data dissemination via Rural observatory, Startup Village Forum platform, UDP, etc.; Contribution to the reporting and dissemination of results.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fieldExperience with geo-localised data at regional/subregional/urban statistical levels; Ability to apply high quality standards; Ability to cope with fast changing technologies; Analysis and problem-solving skills; Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills.Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment; Rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team; Ability to participate in multilingual meetings; Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects; Excellent Team Player; High degree of discretion and integrity.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

at least 3 years of specific expertise in GEODMS (min. competence level 3)
