The Finance Director, Hardlines EU is responsible for going beyond the foundation of effective and efficient controllership to develop new insights and scalable mechanisms for innovation. This role is a key member of the leadership team and is expected to build a deep understanding of all aspects of the business, using data to deliver actionable insights that drive profitable growth. This role is responsible for leading a team of finance managers and analysts and should have the proven ability to build a best-in-class finance organization. In addition, this role is a meaningful contributor to the EU Finance Leadership team whilst inspiring and motivating an entrepreneurial and demanding team.

Key job responsibilities

A Finance Leader within Retail is both the business group 'right hand' and part of the international finance community. You will partner closely with Amazon's biggest retail product family. Working with the Business Leader you will manage its strategic, financial, and operational plans. While each of these categories have unique business challenges, all are focused on bringing customers robust selection at competitive prices.

A day in the life

As an impassioned leader in this space you will inspire and motivate an entrepreneurial and demanding team. To do so effectively, you will develop and foster clear and comprehensive objectives for the organisation. You will hire and develop key leaders to build organization for future growth. You will have an inherent intellectual curiosity. This will have resulted in a proven history of developing and executing growth strategies based on sound, detailed analysis and business judgment.

Controllership is critically important for the role. At the same time, you will be a strong business partner who thinks about the customer first and the long-term success of the business. You will contribute to improvements in top-line and bottom-line financial performance.

  • Experience building and managing teams and businesses across multiple geographies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Financial modelling and data analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel user
  • Be comfortable working in cross-functional teams
