About the role

Field Service Engineer (Electro-mechanical) for global adventures

Cement, Pulp & Paper, Steel, and Power Plants are often located in remote places, this mean that you will not be a sightseeing tourist but an integrated part of a globalized service department providing engineering and service specialists to all our regional branches around the world. You can look forward to 150 + annual travel days in Europe as well as all over the world, the remaining time, works will be at your home base.

As Field Service Engineer your home base will be the Aftermarket ESP Department in Madrid (Spain), reporting to FLSmidth's Air Pollution Control (APC) Aftermarket Division in Copenhagen (Denmark). From here you will be deployed to our sites all over the world, performing supervision, inspection and troubleshooting in connection with our revision and upgrading jobs on our installed APC equipment.

About the department

As part of the FLSmidth Air Pollution Control Aftermarket ESP Department in Madrid, you will join a team of 10 skilled colleagues consisting of electrical and mechanical engineers and product experts. We work closely with our Customers in Spain, Portugal and France, and execute services all over the world, providing the right FLSmidth solutions in terms of air pollution control. More specifically, we are technology leading within electrostatic precipitator (ESP) solutions.

Your responsibilities:

Having undergone our training program, you will gain knowledge of our products concerning both equipment and documentation. It will be your job to make sure the equipment works with support and in close cooperation with our specialists sitting in other parts of our organization. You will be one of our skilled Field Service Engineers, who perform the crucial on-location tasks that the rest of the organization depends upon.

This includes:

Instruction and supervision of Customers and contractors in relation to the erection of our equipment.

Installation and the coordination of electrical installation tools and software.

Feedback and reporting on quality issues and as-built documentation.

Preparing inspection reports, including recommendations.

Provide troubleshooting role to ensure objectives are met and maintain product/project profitability.

Elaboration of quotations for service executions.

Elaboration of quotations for upgrade and retrofit solutions.

Your qualifications:

You hold a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and at least 2 years of industry experience.

As a true FLSmidth global Field Service Engineer, you are more than willing to cross the world, you are able to understand local requirements and can combine your theoretical knowledge with hands-on problem solving, when things do not go according to plan.

Industry experience related to the APC industry, Mechanical equipment, High Voltage applications, dedicated controllers or PLCs would be preferable.

You have good oral and excellent written communication skills. Naturally, you are proficient in Spanish and English. Other language skills, such as French, are an advantage but not essential.

Also, you are well-founded on the Microsoft Office platform, AutoCAD as well as excellent understanding of Electrical and Mechanical documentation.
