We're currently hiring for Utility Locator Technicians in Baton Rouge, LA.

Experienced Locators are preferred, but we are also accepting inexperienced applicants and will provide paid training

Responsibilities

Line locators will work under the direction of their company supervisor, performing work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas and reading and interpretation of utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to locate and protect the utility from being damaged. Some of these utilities include gas, electric, water, cable, sewer and more.

Requirements

High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseMust successfully pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, background check, and driving recordUpon employment, subject to random drug testing in compliance with DOT guidelines

Working Conditions And Hours

Hours are 7:00am - 4:30pmOutdoor work environment: up to 10-12 miles of walking on different terrainsDriving company vehicle to and from work sites

Knowledge And Abilities

Successfully complete the company's training program and pass applicable written and field testsDevelop a general knowledge of state and local damage prevention regulationsLearn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
