The area is in charge to lead the management of Financial Risk Management framework across all the IMa entities, adapting when needed to Emerging Markets specificities. Monitoring the accomplishment of AXA Standards and Group requirements. At the same time is responsible to follow-up financial markets, monitoring and managing the key financial risks at IMa level, driving/impacting key business decisions leveraging local opinion as much as possible but giving regional opinion on material risk topics

To support the IMa Entities to establish and strengthen the Financial Risk management frameworks, leading the implementation and/or adaptation of the group frameworks at IMa entities.

  • To ensure that a consistent framework is in place to systematically identify, monitor and manage the most significant financial risks trough the IMa Entities.

  • To Alert management about new issues and financial risks evolution
  • Challenge and provide 2nd Opinion on ALM studies/optimizations

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support the development/implementation of Group Financial Risk management framework across the Entities
  • Maintain an active awareness of financial markets evolution and financial risks for IMa entities.
  • Ensure, sponsor Group financial risk management initiatives across IMa entities.
  • Work with applicable stakeholders mainly Investment and ALM teams (developing in close collaboration specific methodologies for ALM risk: -both on new products and In-force).
  • Support bi-directional communication channels to ensure strong oversight of IMa platform and entities financial risks.
  • Develop the necessary tools to support the risk view across a wide range of investment matters.
  • Prepare studies and recommendations related to FRM issues including insights on what actions management could take to improve risk-return parameters.

Main tasks should be:

  • Coordinating, supporting, and supervising the proactive identification of main financial risks on regular basis.
  • Escalation of alerts and risk evolution to management.
  • Increasing partnership with IMa entities or other IMa teams by regular participation in Local Investment and ALM committees, Risk Committees, or equivalent Committees.
  • Coordination of Key risk indicators dashboard in order to create early warnings.
  • Support the implementation of the AXA Group Risk Appetite framework at IMa entity level (Market risk, Investment risk, Credit risk, Derivatives, Liquidity risk). Adapting when needed, group FRM policies or instructions. Follow-up and consolidation for IMa regional aggregation for RA and breaches management.
  • Develop financial models.
  • Challenge and provide 2nd Opinion on ALM studies/optimizations (Strategic Asset Allocation, Optimal duration-gap, Hedging Strategies and Optimization, etc), including deliver/support local Risk management teams on providing "2nd Opinion" ALM and develop specific tools and methodologies for it.
  • Challenge and provide 2nd Opinion on suitable investment strategy and ALM strategy for New products – PAP (Product Approval process) related work
  • Support Investment Approval Process (IAP) for IMa entities, managing communication and relations with GRM.
  • Follow-up with IMa investment teams on concentration risk monthly follow-up, global issuer and cash limits. Propose recommendations to maintain good diversification benefits
  • Participate to animate and drive IMa Financial Risk Management Community and ensure information and decision are shared, including regular trainings to local correspondents and management to increase risk awareness.
  • Reporting to senior management.

PROFILE:

Basic background:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science / Mathematics / Economics.
  • Masters Degree (Finance), FRM or CFA qualification highly desirable.
  • Desirable minimum 8-10 years' experience in FRM (Financial Risk Management) topic's within consultancy, banks or insurance company.
  • Understanding of insurance, risk management, ALM and mitigation controls
  • Desirable modelling experience in liabilities and assets.

Technical Skills:

  • Good knowledge of financial markets and instrument valuation (i.e. assets/derivatives etc...).
  • Office suite: Excel (VBA), C++, Access. Power Point, Projection Tools knowledge: Moses/Prophet. Matlab. Bloomberg desirable.
