The Team

The Role
As a data engineer intern you will be working with other members of the data team closely to develop and maintain data pipelines, assure data quality, maintain reports and document the data structure to facilitate its ease of use throughout the Mayan team. You will work closely with our Staff Data engineer, Data Scientists, Data Analyst, CTO, Product Manager, and Customer Success Team to provide data solutions and documentations, and advocate for data quality best practices across the cross-functional team. Your expertise and enthusiasm will help people across Mayan to stay data driven

Evaluate business needs and objectivesAnalyze data, identify patterns and possible issues/gaps in dataData validation and quality assuranceCombine raw information from different sourcesIdentify opportunities for data acquisitionConduct data analysis and report on resultsBuild data pipelinesTransform data for analytical tools and machine learning modelsDocument the data structure
Qualifications
Must Haves:
Basic SQL skillsAble to interpret trends and patternsAble to analyze and organize raw dataKnowledge of OOP languages (e.g. Java, Python)Data Visualization (eg: ChartJs, Google Charts)Basic API integration knowledgeSelf-motivatedExcellent communication and documentation
Nice to Haves:
Hands-on experience with SQL database design (Snowflake)Great numerical and analytical skillsAmazon advertising and seller central experienceTechnical knowledge of data models, data pipelines and transformationUnderstanding or usage of data health monitoring tools (eg: BigEye)Experience creating and leveraging data visualization platforms like Looker, TableauAbility to understand complex business systems
