Join us as a Founding Senior Software Engineer to build the next generation AI analytics platform for helping product, marketing and sales teams make sense of customer feedback at scaleThis is not a full remote role so you are expected to work at least 4 days a week in the office.This role is not suitable for you if you have been working mainly on freelancing projects or only in consulting. We require strong experience working on the same product over a long period of time within a product or data platform organization.Salary Range: 60-75k/year1. About the roleWe are currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong Data and Backend background to join our growing team. As a Founding Engineer on the team, you will be responsible for building a scalable backend infrastructure for our data-intensive web app, optimizing storage/database workloads, ensuring high availability for our AI/ML backend services, scaling our integrations with multiple tools for ingesting different data types, and building robust data pipelines for data transformation and processing. You’ll partner closely with Full-Stack Engineers and AI/ML Scientists to ship production systems powered by LLMs and ML models.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and own scalable backend services for our data-intensive web app and AI/ML model servingMake database and storage trade-offs to optimize for the best performance when managing large amounts and varieties of data, including vector storesBuild robust batch and real time data pipelines that can scale with increased load and dataBuild and maintain data integrations with different data sources and platforms (source and sink)Design and manage the evolution of flexible data models and database infrastructure to handle different types of data sources and data points, optimizing for fast reads/writesImplement and manage a robust workflow orchestration for multiple data jobsSetup robust testing practices, monitoring and observability to ensure the reliability of all services and data pipelinesStay up-to-date with Software Engineering and Data Engineering Best PracticesMinimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related fieldSolid CS fundamentals and distributed systems knowledge is a must-haveExperience building scalable data pipelines, orchestrating workflows and optimizing pipelinesExperience working with data warehouse technologiesExperience working with TypeScript/NodeJS/Python and a strongly typed languageVery comfortable working across the data and backendComfortable managing cloud infrastructure for backend, ML and data pipelines at scale (DevOps)Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Frontend and Machine Learning EngineersAdditional RequirementsPrevious experience working with LLMsFamiliarity with vector databases/storesAbility to work across the stack and pick up new tools/technologiesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills3.
