Engineering Manager – Cloud Platform (AWS)An established FinTech is looking for an Engineering Manager to take ownership of its cloud platform foundations. This position sits at the heart of the company’s technical operations, guiding how core infrastructure is designed, maintained, and evolved across a large-scale AWS environment.The successful candidate will combine hands-on cloud expertise with strong leadership skills, ensuring the platform remains secure, compliant, efficient, and ready to support global growth.About the RoleThis is a senior leadership position with responsibility for the strategic direction and day-to-day performance of the cloud platform function. You will:Shape the future architecture of the company’s AWS environment and define the technical direction for the platform teamCreate and maintain an engineering roadmap that supports business expansion and platform reliabilityOversee the build, automation, and optimisation of core infrastructure services, including networking, observability, and deployment toolingEnsure that systems meet stringent regulatory, security, and audit requirementsSupport the integration of new business units and acquisitions into a unified AWS operating modelAct as a mentor and technical guide for engineers, helping them navigate complex design and operational challengesTeam Leadership & DeliveryYou will manage a group of infrastructure and platform engineers, taking responsibility for:Ensuring consistent delivery against commitments and team capacitySetting expectations around reliability, performance, documentation, and operational excellenceTracking key measures such as uptime, security posture, throughput, and cost efficiencyCreating clear processes around on-call, SLAs, and support readinessIdentifying opportunities to reduce cloud spending through tooling, automation, and architecture choicesRecruiting, developing, and retaining high-calibre engineering talentWhat You’ll BringWe are looking for someone who has:A proven background leading engineering teams responsible for cloud platformsExperience working within environments that must meet strict compliance and audit requirementsDeep knowledge of AWS at scale, including networking patterns, IAM, cost optimisation, and automationStrong familiarity with Kubernetes, container orchestration, IaC tooling (such as Terraform), and modern CI/CD practicesExperience improving observability, platform security, and operational processesThe ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear direction for stakeholders at all levelsWhat’s in It for YouA competitive compensation packageBonus potential tied to performanceA collaborative, international environment where infrastructure plays a central strategic roleAccess to ongoing training, mentoring, and certification opportunitiesIf you’re motivated by building strong engineering cultures, shaping cloud strategy, and driving the evolution of large-scale AWS platforms, this opportunity offers the scope and influence you’re looking for.
