Advantage Communications Group is looking for a skilled IT professional to fill the role of Tier I IT Helpdesk Technician.
This hybrid position will be based in Barcelona, Spain, and requires reporting to our local office two days a week.
The IT Helpdesk Technician serves as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance, providing remote support by contacting users who have submitted helpdesk requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret, evaluate, and resolve problems reported to the help desk related to hardware, software, and corporate systems.
- Monitor all support ticket queues, opening, resolving or reassigning tickets as necessary.
- Elevate complex inquiries to the IT Manager.
- Contact external vendors (Office 365, Microsoft Azure, etc.) to place service calls and track issues until resolution.
- Onboard and offboard new and departing employees, including equipment delivery, setup, software installation, and equipment return.
- Maintain accurate records of problem tickets and their resolutions in our database.
- Stay informed about system procedures and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
- Maintain inventory records of assigned equipment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Two to five years of experience supporting user requests in an IT Helpdesk environment.
- Strong background in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
- Ability to analyze and address user needs.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

While performing duties, the employee will frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. They will occasionally need to move around the office to access files, machines, etc. The employee must be able to lift 35 pounds and sit/stand for extended periods. Regular presence in the Barcelona office is required.
