Postdoc Position in RNA Splicing: The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the team of Juan Valcárcel. The successful candidate will contribute to the UNLEASH project, focusing on the characterization of molecular mechanisms of alternative splicing (AS) regulation, including the identification and analysis of small molecule modulators and their potential applications in medicine.

Location: Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), Barcelona, Spain

  • Must Have:
    • PhD in Molecular Biology
    • Proven experience in Molecular Biology and Gene Regulation
    • Fluency in English
  • Desirable but not required:
    • Computational Biology skills
    • Experience with RNA analysis

Job Description: The successful candidate will work within the UNLEASH project, funded by the European Research Council and UK Research and Innovation. The project aims to understand how splice site selection is regulated and its modulation by small molecules, potentially leading to new therapeutic approaches. The role involves:

  • Characterizing molecular mechanisms of AS regulation
  • Identifying and analyzing small molecule modulators
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
