Open Positions: Senior Software Engineer (Remote, Spain)

Position Summary

Anju is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java programming, software development, and MySQL Server database skills. The role involves planning and implementing Java solutions, configuring and executing scripts, and developing scripts for database updates, data transformation, import/export, and data repair. Additionally, the engineer will automate integration and deployment tasks, assist with change requests, and collaborate with the data team to optimize data pipelines, ensuring efficient data flow and system integration.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Architect and implement efficient data processing pipelines for mission-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and provide technical insights.
  • Optimize data processing jobs to ensure seamless data flow and system integration.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry standards.
  • Develop robust production cycles with end-to-end functionality and high availability.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and security through best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely resolutions.

What You Should Have

  • At least 5 years of experience in software development with Java expertise.
  • Professional experience as a Software Engineer or a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MySQL, including writing optimized queries and managing database interactions.
  • Experience with Java, MySQL, Jenkins, Docker, Bash scripting, Ansible, and Python.
  • Expertise in Java versions 8, 12, 17, 21, with a strong understanding of object-oriented design.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Industry experience in biotech, pharma, or healthcare is a plus.

The Department Head may consider candidates with a combination of experience and education that varies from the above qualifications.
