Open Positions: Senior Software Engineer (Remote, Spain)

POSITION SUMMARY

Anju is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java programming, overall software knowledge, and MySQL Server database skills. The engineer will plan and implement solutions in Java, configure and execute scripts, and develop scripts for database updates, data transformation, import/export, and data repair. The role also involves automating integration and deployment tasks, assisting with change requests and deployments, and collaborating with the data team to optimize data pipelines for efficient data flow and system integration.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Architect and implement efficient, high-volume, low-latency data processing pipelines for mission-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and provide technical insights.
  • Optimize and maintain data processing jobs for seamless data flow and system integration.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Develop robust production cycles ensuring end-to-end functionality and high availability.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and security through best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely resolutions.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with expertise in Java.
  • Professional experience as a Software Engineer or a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MySQL, including writing optimized queries and managing database interactions.
  • Experience with Java, MySQL, Jenkins, Docker, Bash scripting, Ansible, and Python.
  • Expertise in Java (8/12/17/21) with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Experience in biotech, pharma, or healthcare is a plus.

The Department Head may consider candidates with a combination of experience and education different from the above qualifications.
