We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Machine Learning Researcher to join the ERC Chem2Sense project at the CIB Margarita Salas, part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), a leading multidisciplinary research institute in Madrid, Spain.
About the Project:The ERC Chem2Sense project aims to adapt nanopore sequencing basecallers for nucleotide modification detection using incremental learning and anomaly detection techniques. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing machine learning models for nanopore sequencing basecallers.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement machine learning models for nanopore sequencing basecallers.
- Apply signal processing techniques to improve nucleotide modification detection.
- Contribute to an innovative approach combining hybrid and modular nucleic acid derivatives.
- Collaborate with wet lab researchers to validate computational predictions.
- Contribute to the writing of scientific publications and reports.
- Strong background in signal processing.
- Extensive knowledge in the development of robust, scalable machine-learning models for research applications.
- Experience in computational biology and nanopore sequencing data (preferred).
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Proficiency in Python, R, and familiarity with scientific computing libraries.
- High-level English communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative research environment.
