Role Purpose:

  • Responsibility for the profitable development of the Spanish Energy & Construction portfolio.
  • Execute strategy with a focus on the management of risk whilst driving business growth and achieving profit objectives.
  • Maximising business value through portfolio optimisation, operational efficiency and risk selection.
  • Help creating a work environment that fosters teamwork, innovation and cooperation.
  • Finding ways to leverage technology within the Underwriting process to improve efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountability for the underwriting of an assigned book of business and accounts.
  • Support the Head of Energy and Construction in the successful execution of the Energy & Construction plan; adjusting strategies and actions to meet the needs of a changing marketplace; effectively preserve and enhance profitability through product development and enhancement; pricing discipline, competitive analysis and the development of businessenhancing performance metrics and controls.
  • Executing underwriting strategy and foster continuous improvement of guidelines and processes.
  • Contribute to the delivery branch Energy & Construction P&L of all key metrics.
  • Conduct peer reviews within the department.
  • Business development and execution of yearly business and budget planning.
  • Provide insurance solutions & broader risk management support to clients most complex risks and challenges.
  • Support the development of business and marketing plan, building brand and product awareness through broker market.
  • Expanding and enhancing the current product range to allow Everest to compete with the market leaders in the sector.

Professional experience & skills:

  • Energy & Construction expert with extensive Underwriting experience in the Spanish marketplace
  • Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business and proven record of delivering meaningful underwriting profit.
  • Proven people and skills, team player
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively with peers.
  • Strong technical background, problem solving analytical skills, and ability to connect data analytics with strategic deliverables to drive underwriting strategy.
