Senior Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, you will be part of a centralised data products team with the primary purpose to build a practical and comprehensive model in SQL mesh from raw data sitting in Snowflake.
The impact you'll make:
- Collaborate with the product analytics team to understand the digital data model requirements and translate it into a technical solution.
- Build out digital data models in SQL mesh to unlock huge data capabilities which are limited due to the current set up (GA UI).
- Develop and maintain frameworks and documentation to enable selfserve in the business.
- Troubleshoot issues related to data quality, pipeline failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in data engineering.
Technology Stack:
Must to have
- ETL/ELT Tools & process experience
- Data Modelling and Transformation experience
- Programming Languages: SQL, Python
Nice to have
- Data Warehousing: Snowflake or Redshift, BigQuery
- Data Audit: SQLMesh or similar
- Data Visualisation Tools: Tableau, Power BI or similar
- Version Control: Git
- Cloud Platforms: Such as AWS, GCP, Azure
What you'll bring to us:
- Proficient in Data Transformation, Modelling, and Schema Design in SQL Mesh: Extensive experience with SQL Mesh for data transformation and modelling. Strong skills in designing efficient and scalable data schemas.
- Experience with Snowflake: Handson experience using Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
- Experience with Digital Data and/or the Airline Industry (preferred): Familiarity with digital data processing and analytics. Experience in the airline industry would be a significant advantage.

Proactive in identifying problems and seeking solutions. Ability to derive clear objectives from broad and complex challenges.
- Strong Communication and
Collaboration Skills:
Excellent at working independently and in a team. Effective communicator with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with ETL/ELT Processes and Tools: Proficient in ETL/ELT processes for seamless data integration. Knowledgeable in using tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Talend, or similar.
- Excellent English communication skills.
