As a Financial Reporting & Accounting Specialist your objective is: producing timely and accurate financial statements, regulatory returns and other management reports, acting as central point of contact for business support across AXA XL Iberia in liaise with the Finance Senior Manager.

The role effectively bridges financial strategy, accounting, and organizational leadership, requiring keen attention to detail and an ability to focus on the bigger picture while treading the line between increasing efficiency and improving accuracy.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • accounting-related activities, supervising and coordinating the work performed in the country and by other corporate central functions, from general ledger to analytical accounting, contribute in the setup of controls and drawing up more efficient processes.
  • Perform the financial close process to ensure the monthly and quarterly management accounts are produced timely and accurately
  • Prepare annual budget and forecasts in liaise with other functions and Management. Prepare quarterly management reporting information and provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of deviations to the Finance Senior Manager and Corporate Finance team.
  • Assist Top Management in making decisions that affect the organization and strategy.
  • Provide insights and support the Finance Senior Manager and other functions of financial reports (profitability, ratios, deviations vs. Budget)
  • Manage deliverables to Top management and other departments and be a business partner
  • Work closely with tax advisors, as well as liaising with auditors and actuaries.
  • Promote an OneAXA engagement model with the AXA Entities operating in Spain, share best practice.

You will report to the Financial Reporting & Accounting Senior Manager, Iberia

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis). Experience in the insurance industry and as external/internal financial auditor will be a plus.
  • Economics/Business Administration, Engineering or similar bachelor's degree. Master of Finance or MBA degree will be a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Spanish and English
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (other accounting/analytical software will be a plus)
  • Excellent analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure, always remaining effective whilst maintaining excellent attention to quality.
  • Highly organized, structured & proactive way of working.
  • Effective communication skills and good networking ability to quickly build an effective and trust-based relationship with stakeholders and other functions of the organisation in an international environment.
