ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

Photocurrent detection of biomolecules and membranes on a 2D-material sensing platform:

  • Development of a sensing platform based on 2D-materials for photo-current sensing of biological material.
  • Demonstration of biomolecular detection using vibrational band excitation using MIR. Optimization of the limit of detection by optimizing the read-out, optical design and fabrication. The goal is to design and assemble a prototype that demonstrates stable detection of multiple gases, with ML analysis and low limit of detection.
  • Demonstration of bio-membrane detection using electronic band excitation using broad-band fs laser. Implementation of broad vis-IR with spectral pulse-shaping for phase-related multipulse excitation. Demonstration of photocurrent spectral microscopy. Exploration of non-linear regime to allow 4-pulse 2D-electronic spectroscopy. Optimization on organic photovoltaic materials. Exploration of mixed antenna complex reaction center networks, varying reaction center density.

Salaries for ICFO Postdoctoral positions are assigned by the Selection Committee, based on experience and seniority of the applicant, as well as the assigned tasks and responsibilities within the group.

Standard salaries range from a lower level aligned with national Ramon-y-Cajal fellowships to higher levels aligned with Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowships.

The contract is offered for period of 3 years.


Additionally, a family allowance is also available on request and after corresponding approval for people with family charges in the terms described in the corresponding policy.
