Job Purpose:


The primary purpose of the Global Business Process Owner (BPO) for Control Tower is to design and continuously improve the end-to-end global process that should be performed across functional, geographic, and business unit boundaries.

The Business Process Owner is responsible to define for the global process design, build, pilot and align the implementation plan regional leaders (BODs/RSCDs/SCMs), following BPM guidelines and priorities

Key Accountabilities:


A key objective of the Supply Chain Control Tower is to ensure optimal and proactive inventory management controlling all underlying processes including Inventory Strategy / Inventory Optimization and Total Inventory Health.

Other process areas will be added to the framework in line with our company maturity and roadmap.

A multi-functional approach and high-quality stakeholder management (many and highly diverse stakeholders) is essential.

The e2e control tower is a key enabler for IBP and is a key pillar in AkzoNobel strive for sustainability.

The financial exposure of the process is high as per Inventory Impairment/provisioning accounting.

Key Activities:

  • Translates global process strategy into medium term and operational plans.
  • Develops, adapts and drives global process design and technology requirements to achieve key objectives in area of responsibility.
  • Identify local requirements or constraints through Gembawalks and auditing in the various IBP steps (Demand, Product, Supply) and SC processes.
  • Sets service level agreements and thresholds with functions, CUs/BUs and GBS.
  • Designs optimization and transformation initiatives for endtoend processes and sets direction for detailed design.
  • Defines team structures for enablement of endtoend process implementation.
  • Ensures consistent implementation as specified by the GPO to leverage existing operational processes and structure.
  • Ensures endtoend process/data performance meets critical business requirements.

Education & Experience:

  • Master or advanced university degree. Preferably in technical, data sciences, or supply chain management
- +10 years supply chain management and planning experience for a multinational company

  • Proven project experience in SC transformation programs (people/process/technology) and IBP/S&OP processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, organized and high attention to detail
  • Good people and change management skills improvement programs at a global scale and with diverse teams.
  • Good knowledge of databases, data processes, IT infrastructure, data modelling, and complex analysis.
  • Comfortable with data manipulation and data analytics strong with handling large volumes of data
