Introduction to the vacant position:
The Biosensors for Bioengineering Group is looking for an Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the development of 3D skeletal muscle tissue co-cultures.
The contract will be within the framework of FAP-DMD project, whose objective to set-up 3D cell co-culture models using human myoblasts and fibro-adipogenic precursor cells to study the interaction between these cells during fribrotic and adipogenic processes in muscular dystrophies.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop and characterize 3D tissue cocultures of skeletal muscle tissues from patientderived cells.
- Characterize fibrotic and adipogenic processes in DMD and Col6related 3D models.
- Drug testing and validation in 3D cocultures.
Essential:
- PhD on any field on Molecular Biology, Biomedicine or similar.
- Experience on muscular dystrophies and/or fibrosis, will be a plus.
- Experience on drug testing.
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
- High level of English.
Advantageous:
- Experience in skeletal muscle cell culture.
- Experience in muscular dystrophy research.
- Experience in fibrosis.
