Amazon HR Regional Partners (HRPs) in the EMEA region act as consultants to more than 4,000 people managers, based across 20 different countries.

Operating autonomously and delivering high judgement advice, HRPs help to enable an exceptional customer and employee experience.

Amazon HRPs actively collaborate with business and HR stakeholders, including:
  • HRBP's who are focused on delivering the HR strategy for the lines of business they support.
  • Centres of excellence, including Employee Services (who own HR administration), Compensation & Benefits and Talent Acquisition.


HRPs are required to have a deep understanding of their country's employment labour law, are skilled in consulting on Amazon policy and build trust by providing high judgement guidance on people-related topics.

Amazon HRPs work across multiple Corporate businesses as 'generalists', partnering with people leaders to offer quick, efficient, high-quality consultation and guidance.

This role is carried out using an innovative customer relationship Management tool, enabling the team to identify trending issues and themes through data, informing consequent decisions and initiatives.

The HRP team's role is also to standardise best practices across EMEA, leveraging extensive insights across business lines.


Key job responsibilities:
  • Providing guidance to HRBPs and Business Leaders on change management initiatives.
  • Performance management processes, both informal and formal.
  • Handling complex and sensitive employee issues, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Conducting development sessions to enhance manager effectiveness and capability.
  • Assisting with Employee Relations cases, including relationships with Workers Councils and labor inspections (strong knowledge of Spanish labor law is mandatory).
  • Identifying training opportunities to further develop functional and leadership skills.
  • Supporting Leaders with career conversations and growth plans.

A day in the life:

Alongside core case work, the HRP team is responsible for policy and compliance at the country level, requiring staying informed about legislative or Amazon-driven updates and utilizing strong written skills for policy document changes.

Additionally, a crucial part of our HRP team's career development involves participating or leading subject matter expert groups focused on enhancing key HR processes across EMEA, as well as undertaking project assignments at country or regional levels.

Last but not least, as HR country subject matter experts, managing ER cases (investigations, grievances, and dismissals) and negotiations with Workers Council.


About the team:

The ESP HRP Corporate team is split between Madrid and Barcelona, collectively managing all Corporate employees based in Spain (around 6,000 employees).

This role must be based in Barcelona to ensure a balanced team presence across locations. Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory (Catalan would be an advantage).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree or higher in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field.
  • Extensive Human Resources generalist work experience and dealing with labor relations cases in Spain.
  • In-depth knowledge of Spanish Employment Law and Spanish Employee Relations experience (mandatory).
  • Experience in managing Works Council in Spain.
  • Fluent Spanish and English language skills. Catalan fluency would be a plus but not required.
  • Strong HR acumen, including problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analysis.
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent ability to deliver results individually and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluent Catalan language skills preferred.
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Experience in Labor Relations in Spain.
  • Proven track record of accomplishments in an international, fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and optimize available resources.
  • Project management skills with a proven track record of influencing through data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and consulting skills.
