As Fitness Instructor, I fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses Ibiza to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them, plus our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness.
I will fully embrace, implement and safeguard the overall Wellness philosophy, concepts and programs such as Sleep with Six Senses, Eat With Six Senses and Grow With Six Senses.
All aspects of these wellness and initiatives will be adopted and implemented throughout the operation and its strategic planning and development.
_Duties and Responsibilities_
As Fitness Instructor, I have full knowledge of all facilities and services offered by the Spa and Fitness area including all treatments, classes and equipment as well as their location and layout.
I will perform the following relevant tasks for this role:
- Check and set up the daily operations and supply of the fitness areas and male and female changing areas according to standards.
- Assist other fitness instructors and hosts to ensure that they can perform their services professionally and accurately in a timely manner.
- Greet the guest upon entering and leaving the fitness areas and explain to them the general procedures.
- Request and collect stock and supply in accordance with minimum stock levels (for towels, linen, food & beverage, and other minor operating supplies).
- Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level.
- Answer telephone calls and queries and give accurate details regarding fitness inquiries.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of cardio machines and fitness equipment after every guest use.
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
- Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
- Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.
- Teach and demonstrate use of gymnastic and training equipment.
- Monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed.
- Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.
- Provide guests with information and resources regarding nutrition, weight control and lifestyle issues.
- Administer emergency first aid, wrap injuries, treat minor chronic disabilities, or refer injured persons to physicians.
- Perform fitness classes and personal trainings as per Six Senses Spas standards.
- Make sure fitness area and changing rooms have enough supplies at all times as per standards.
- Handle guest complaints and record all guest comments.
- Fill in documents, controls, reports for duty (stocks, daily log book if any, lost & found, guest comments, etc.)
- Carry out when required stock count, both retail and professional stock.
- Monitor usage of products.
- Upsell all fitness, spa and wellness activities.
- Attend meetings and training as required by supervisors.
- Upkeep Six Senses guidelines and standards of service and operation. My performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded.
- Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest comments.
- Perform any additional tasks given to me by supervisor/management.
_Qualification_
To execute the position of Fitness Instructor, I confirm that I have the required qualifications, technical skills and at least two years' experience in a similar or greater role in luxury spas and health clubs with proven certifications and diplomas.
Although a Bachelor's degree in physical education preferred, if no degree I must prove that I am certified (or the equivalent of): REPs level - Register of Exercise Professionals, ACE Personal Trainer - American Council of Exercise, ACSM Certified Personal Trainer - American College of Sports Medicine, NSCA Certified Personal Trainer - National Strength and Conditioning Association.
I have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Spanish.
