The Supply Chain Trade compliance Manager is responsible to ensure that organization's import and export activities comply with relevant international trade laws, regulations, and requirements.

The role will manage trade compliance programs, implement policies and procedures, and oversee day-to-day trade compliance operations.

Key Responsibilities- Strategy, policy & procedure development- Develop and implement a comprehensive trade compliance strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Establish and enforce trade compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines. This involves creating policies, SOPs and operational guidelines to ensure compliance with import/export controls (IoR/EoR..), customs regulations, sanctions, embargoes, and trade agreements. Establish & maintain relevant Trade compliance KPIs to show visibility & monitor risks & progresses Risk Assessment and Mitigation- Monitor changes in trade regulations and assess their impact to maintain a proactive approach to compliance. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (tax, legal, finance, markets.) to address compliance gaps and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Internal Controls and Audits
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure trade compliance.
  • Conduct periodic audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of trade compliance measures.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives based on audit findings and best practices.
  • Trade Documentation and Recordkeeping
  • Setup an effective process for products classification according to customs tariff codes (HS codes)
  • Establish & own standardized trade documentation and recordkeeping processes
  • Ensure accurate and complete doc. for all import and export transactions
  • Maintain proper recordkeeping of traderelated documents and records as required by regulations.
  • Ensure accurate valuation of imported goods and adherence to rules of origin for preferential trade programs.
  • Partner Management
  • Collaborate with partners (freight forwarders, brokers,..) to ensure compliance with import and export regulations, through PoAs and other related documentation.
  • Establish processes and criteria for vetting and selecting compliant trade partners.
  • Conduct periodic assessments and audits of partner's trade compliance practices.
  • Trade Agreements and Programs
  • Stay informed about global trade agreements, preferential trade programs, and their requirements.
  • Assess eligibility and leverage opportunities for preferential trade benefits, such as duty savings or streamlined customs procedures.

Training and Awareness- Provide training and guidance to employees (especially Intercompany & freight local teams) on trade compliance requirements and best practices.
