What will be your challenge?


You will be working within the Asset & Investment Management team with the responsibility to manage Credit Fixed Income portfolios, in order to outperform benchmark and / or performance targets ensuring that risk-return profiles adhere to portfolio guidelines and are in line with risk appetite and aligned with the central strategy and under consideration of the local requirements.


What will your day-to-day life be like?

  • Maximize the performance of Credit Fixed Income portfolios within investment constraints and guidelines.
  • Analyze the credit worthiness of individual securities considering the economic prospects of the issuer, its cash flow generating ability and liquidity needs, and other relevant factors in order to determine the suitability of each security for purchase or appropriateness of securities held in the portfolio for sale.
  • Efficiently execute trades to construct portfolios with desired characteristics, complying with constraints and limits expressed in the investment guidelines, including opportunities to optimize and dispose of securities.
  • Analyse market sectors and subsectors to formulate an opinion on their relative performance and makes trading recommendations for the credit portfolios.
  • Assist in performance attribution analysis to explain differences between portfolio and benchmark return.
  • Monitor and manage to a given planned investment income and helps to explain difference between planned and actual investment income.
  • Identify attractive investment opportunities or trends in various investment strategies as well as undesirable style drift, unexpected performance trends, or other adverse developments.
  • Develop action plans and/or redemption strategies for underperforming investments.
  • Support the implementation of SAA and TAA decisions deriving from relevant committees' decisions.
  • Monitor and manage cash flows, performance, exposure, risks, income forecasts, portfolio cash flows, leverage, and liquidity of the credit fixed income portfolios.
  • Develop financial models for financial forecasting and credit portfolio management.
  • Understand, evaluate, and stay upto date on the local and global markets and macroeconomic situation that may affect or provide opportunities on the implementation of the strategy to support decisionmaking process.
  • Research, develop and propose appropriate income/return credit enhancement strategies or new credit investment opportunities to support Investment Management objectives.

What will you need to succeed in the role?

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Physics with economic background; Actuarial Science & Finance, Economics with strong quantitative skills.
  • MSc in Quantitative Finance, Financial Markets or CFA qualification will be a plus.
  • 3 or more years of experience in related field preferable within an insurance company.
  • Experience in financial modelling and numerical computing languages.
  • Experience within Fixed Income market and underlying risk factors.
  • Experience in investment management and risk/ return key indicators.
  • Deep knowledge of capital markets, financial products, and economic theory.
  • Excellent understanding of liabilitydriven insurance investing.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles for investments and derivatives.
  • Experience with Bloomberg or additional market software.
  • Team worker, proactive and positive attitude, enthusiasm for financial markets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Spanish will be a plus but not required.
