The
Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukemia and related disorders, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.


The IJC has laboratories in 5 clinical campuses:
i) Hospital Clínic, ii) Hospital de Sant Pau and iii) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol iv) Hospital del Mar and v) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona.

IJC serves as a collaborative center for basic researchers and physicians to work together on fundamental clinical and biological aspects of leukemia.

Research Description
Due to unforeseen and unexpected tasks of Dr.

Javierre's lab, the Josep Carreras Research Institute is looking for a Specialist Technician in the field of 3D Epigenomics to join Dr.

Javierre's Group.


Chromatin interactions are crucial for cellular health due to their main role in genome expression regulation and errors in these interactions could give rise to the development of a broad range of diseases including cancer.

For all these reasons, the Javierre's lab aims to deeply investigate the altered promoter interactomes in cancer and their functional repercussion.

This knowledge will help us to improve our knowledge of the tumour process, providing new opportunities for the development of novel treatment approaches and diagnostic strategies.

In our approach, we will combine cutting-edge experimental and computational approaches for analysing spatial-temporal changes in the 3D chromatin packaging and the epigenetic profiles.

What we need

  • University Degree in biology or similar.
  • Experience in cell Hi-C, capture Hi-C, UMI4C, ChIPseq GMP, CUT&RUN, molecular biology.
  • Previous experience in the fields of 3D epigenetics will be favorably considered.
  • High level of collaborative and communicative skills.
  • High level of figures and text editing.
  • High level of motivation and interest.

Main Responsibilities

  • Generation and analysis of ChIPseq and CUT&RUN libraries.
  • Generation and analysis of UMI4C, Hi-C, capture Hi-C libraries
  • Writing of Standard Operating Protocols.
  • Lab support in technical issues.
