A vacancy for a Composites Manufacturing Engineer for FCAS Manufacturing Engineering Team has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz).


Context:


FCAS Program is one of the key projects for Airbus in the coming years, due to its economic relevance, the technological progress associated, as well as its strategical & political relevance for both industrial partners and countries involved.

Due to the program dimension & ambition it is a great opportunity for professionals willing for technical and/or managerial challenges.


Tasks & accountabilities

The main activities are:

  • Participate in Design concurrence, validate desing and creat Build process
  • Ensure maturity for selected composite technology.
  • ME Support to R&T activities and tradeoffs for challenging program baseline.
  • Work preparation for all sample manufacturing and manuf. tests and prototypes.
  • Drive implementation of 1st installation with required shop floor feedback loops.
  • Create / update routings / BoM / SOI taken into account shop floor needs, Time calculation and Work Preparation Golden Rules in accordance with applicable processes.
  • Specify industrial asset (Jigs, Tools, Tooling, Machines, ) requirements for creation or modification.
  • Plan regular feedback loops with main stakeholders: Industrial Architects, ME Development Engnieers, tooling engineers, production...
  • Manage key / recurrent work prep issues escalated by the Production Team / Tech shop floor support.
  • Communicate directly and by a physical participation in Production Team routines.
  • Support shop floor continuous improvement by providing work prep expertise when issues not managed at shop floor level by technical shop floor support.
  • Support PPE in evaluating industrial impacts of modifications and translating industrial requirements to design & supply chain.
  • Accountable for Support configuration management.
  • Run and support P-FMEA/FMEA.
  • Depending on the division, provide technical expertise to the DPE.
  • Role of ME within supply chain management guaranteeing full consistency and effectivity of data (eg: Missing part, stock, Material Requirement Planning impacts).

Required Skills:

  • Composites Manufacturing Knowledge (>5 years).
  • Excellent interpersonal and Leadership skills.
  • Professional level in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong team player.
  • Highly innovative mindset and permanently challenging the status quo.
  • Passionate about Manufacturing technologies
  • Willingness to do always your best, grow and take new responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn and grow in an evolving environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proactive, selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and as a team member in a challenging environment.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as in international teams.
  • Strong customer focus and result orientation.

Nice to have (not mandatory):

  • Experience in new composites manufacturing development.
  • Good command of French or German is an advantage but not essential.
  • Good Knowledge/understanding of Manufacturing / Industrial System, Industrial Means and Processes.
  • Advanced skills with MS Office are presumed.
  • Experience with Manufacturing IT tools will be valuable.
  • Team working skills and problemsolving mind.
  • MRB (Material Review Board) Experience.
