Role Purpose:


This role will drive transformational change, continuous improvement, enhanced staff know how / standards, and help oversee the provision of operational insights to help improve service delivery and the adoption of target state ways of working.

The role has a primary focus around Operational Transformation - spanning Target Operating Model, Process, People, Technology and Data. To achieve this the individual will;

  • Identify innovation and continuous improvement ideas, prioirtise and manage implementation, and deliver benefits
  • Lead cross functional process projects liasing with stakeholders to understand process and use process improvement techniques to deliver efficiencies
  • Introduce/ analyse process metrics, staffing models, process controls etc.
  • Maximise potential of IT deliveries by acting as link between business and technology
  • Formulate process and training documentation.
  • Establish culture of process excellence in the organisation

Key responsibilities:

  • Business Process Analysis (70%)
  • Collaborate on the definition and maintenance of the Business Process framework as part of the EMEA transformation project, ensuring synchronization of all process efforts:
  • Coordination of all process work including leading process workshops with business stakeholders, drafting To Be processes and seeking feedback from key stakeholders
  • Act as link between business and technology, able to offer solutions to business issues and guide in the correct use of technology
  • Provide regular progress reports to the relevant governance and steering groups
  • Analyse and document the relevant business processes identifying opportunities to streamline activities and reduce duplication of effort
  • Use a data led approach to analysis and identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to help define new process improvement opportunities
  • Quantify benefits and costs in order to prioritize opportunities
  • Present and run workshops to discuss opportunities with senior stakeholders, including HR. This will involve changes to support the process harmonisation which will include drafting of job titles, reporting lines, roles & responsibilities and job descriptions for both Operations and Underwriting job families. To aid this the individual will work to develop learning and development and career progression plans for specific Operations job families to help to standardise the roles and increase employee retention
  • Develop an implementation roadmap of the approved transformational change initiatives which align with the wider technology changes which are scheduled to take place.
  • Know-How & Standards (20%)
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and guides drive adoption of best practice ways of working across the team.
  • Be the custodian of EMEA Underwriting and Operations procedures and monitor training/adherence to ensure everyone is well equipped to offer the right levels of service, quality, controls and performance
  • Map business processes according to the defined rules and standards
  • Ensure process documents remain applicable and are kept up to date in the central shared repository
  • Produce and store training/change material in support of the changes implemented
  • Continuous Improvement & Projects (10%)
  • In addition to the Transformation backbone, lead the delivery / coordination of other adhoc projects, initiatives and mitigations as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement through further initiatives but also Lean thinking and culture. Encourages a culture of investigation, process thinking and the pursuit of new ideas / better ways of working.
  • Share preexisting process documentation
  • Lead and Facilitate process mapping sessions
  • Propose and participate in the ongoing development of other team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and training as appropriate

Key requirements:

  • Advanced level of English (C1)
  • Experience in working on Business Transformation / Process Improvement programs within Financial Services (ideally insurance) and can demonstrate the delivery of tangible business benefits / savings.
  • Demonstrated success in dealing with ambiguity, proven ability to communicate at all levels, including senior executive level, outstanding facilitation, problem resolution, crossgroup collaboration and organizational agility skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills.
  • Proven experience of stakeholder management
  • A team player with a strong desire to achieve excellence

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge / experience of the insurance lifecycle from sales and underwriting, fulfilment and back end processing, to finance and claims.
