Customs Specialist

A vacancy for a Customs Specialist has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Seville, Spain.

You will join to the Finance Team and will work closely not only with your peers in Spain but also with other customs specialists in other Airbus countries such as France, Germany and the UK.

Your responsibility will be focused mainly on four roles.

• You will support the customs function in Airbus Spain and ensure that customs requirements are correctly enforced within Airbus Spain from a compliance perspective.
• You will ensure that Airbus Spain is managing properly customs suspension regimes enabling Airbus to save customs duties and taxes through notably follow up of the authorisations with the relevant Spanish Customs Authorities
• You will supervise and audit the Logistics and Customs subcontractors allocated in Seville area
• You will represent the Airbus Customs Spain organization in front of the different Airbus organizations for which the involvement of Customs is needed.

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

The key tasks of the role are as follows:

• To supervise the corporate Customs procedures ensuring the fulfillment of Airbus with the effective legislation of the Ministry of Economy in Customs and Foreign Trade, as well as diminishing to the maximum the fiscal impact of duties and VAT derived from the activity of Import and export.
• To supervise the work of the customs service provider and the adherence to the corresponding KPI.
• To coordinate with IT department the updating of the customs IT system according to the new business and legal requirements
• Management, analysis and reporting of customs payments
• To manage licenses in coordination with Export Control
• To monitor and supervise Intrastat declarations
• To support Airbus customs policy in front of the different tax, commerce and customs authorities and Administrations.
• To provide internal advice on customs subjects to the different Airbus organizations as Contracts, Procurement, Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain and Export Control.
• To handle all legal questions related to customs and excise tax within the company
• To mantain close relation with European Customs processes
• To set up and developing customs processes for Airbus Defence and Space SAU Spain.
• To develop basic regulations and guidelines for the acquisition, processing and monitoring of all customs-related commercial transactions and implementing these in the company.

• Degree level (or equivalent) in Law, Business Law or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of international trade and customs
• Professional management experience within customs clearance
• Experience with customs tools
• Experience of Supply Chain activities
• Assertive and demonstrate good team skills
• Solution-oriented approach
• Sound judgment skills and capable of identifying solutions in rapidly-evolving situations
• Competent User of the Microsoft and Google Suite tools and SAP
• Customs software tools
• Language Skills:
  • English: Negotiation Level
  • French: Desirable
