WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORISGlobal and the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona are looking for a candidate research physician specializing in internal medicine or family medicine.
This position is ideal for a candidate looking for a joint position combining both clinical work and research in international health.
The candidate will be part of the clinical team working at the International Health Department in the Hospital Clinic and work nationally and internationally on the diagnosis and management of travel-related diseases.
The candidate will collaborate in research activities in the field of travel medicine, building on existing collaborations.Responsibilities include developing strategic research questions, applying for and procuring research grants, designing and implementing research protocols, summarizing findings and publishing results in peer-reviewed journals.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIESAttend patients in Hospital Clinic's Travel Clinic.
Lead the design and development of research projects including clinical studies (epidemiologic and clinical trials) and obtain grant funding in the field of travel medicine.
Lead the activities of research studies including ensuring all study procedures are of good quality and are carried out per good clinical practices, with an emphasis on the clinical management of patients under their supervision.
Publish scientific manuscripts in international peer-reviewed journals.Supervise personnel to coordinate research efforts for increased efficiency; participate in the training of pre-doctoral fellows, residents, students, and volunteer workers as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGMedical Doctor with specialization in internal medicine or family medicine.Experience and knowledge on issues related to Global Health and travel medicine. Additional profiles will be considered if highly motivated researchers in other related disciplines.
Previous experience conducting clinical research.
Record of obtaining research funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journalsLANGUAGESSALARY AND CONDITIONSThe position is for a period of 5 months (renewable).
The conditions will be agreed according to training and experience. Approximate start-date in August 2024.Salary Range:

SELECTION PROCESSThe selection process is designed in two phases:1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
