Citizen Science Communication Expert

Developing and implementing communication strategies for citizen science projects that effectively communicate the value and impact of our projects to a wide range of stakeholders, including citizens, researchers, policymakers, and funders.


  • Collaborate with project scientists and stakeholders to design and implement engagement activities that promote citizen science projects and encourage participation.
  • Manage the project's online presence, including website content and social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Prepare and present project reports, presentations, and other materials for stakeholders, partners, and the public.
  • Work with project partners to identify and organize outreach events, including workshops, webinars, and public speaking engagements.
  • Experience in event management is a plus.
  • Support the preparation of new project proposals.
  • Support Ibercivis' positioning, exploitation and internationalization.
  • Bachelor of Science with a Master's degree in Science Communication.
  • Thorough understanding of communication and dissemination best practices and being able to demonstrate their skills in developing and implementing effective communication strategies.
  • Experience managing citizen science projects and being able to demonstrate their skills in coordinating project activities and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of citizen science communication best practices, including engagement strategies for citizen participation and effective ways to communicate the value and impact of citizen science projects.
  • Ability to conduct research on citizen science communication and engagement strategies and use this research to inform their work.
  • Experience managing H2020 or Horizon Europe projects and being able to demonstrate their skills in coordinating project activities and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with other team members and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • This role will require a deep understanding of citizen science communication best practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the success of our projects.
  • Proficient in English, at least C1 or equivalent.
  • Experience in SEO/SEM and social media impact analysis at KPIsAbility to travel, mainly in Europe.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements and goals.
  • Ability to work independently and to take initiative.
  • Strong problemsolving and criticalthinking skills, including the ability to identify and resolve communicationrelated challenges.
