Within Azure Data, the Cosmos team builds and operates one of the largest big data analytics systems on the planet, serving the data platform requirements of Microsoft teams including Office, Bing, Windows, X-box, and Commerce.

We build highly reliable, secure, and scalable distributed software that handles several exabytes of data.

We are a mission critical platform that enables Microsoft teams to transform any data at any scale into business assets easily at low cost.

To help us with our evolution, we are looking for a Principal Product Manager to join the Cosmos team. You will be responsible for building and delivering critical platform capabilities.

You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to define product requirements, develop product roadmaps, and drive product development from ideation to launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct customer research to identify customer needs, pain points, and opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Write compelling product and technical specifications that outline customer needs and product requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to ensure successful product development.
  • Measure and evaluate product performance and customer feedback using effective telemetry and analytics tools and iterate on product features based on data and insights.
  • Deliver business results by aligning multiple stakeholders across Microsoft and leading the team through empowerment and accountability.
  • Define and drive business and product Key Performance Indicator's (KPIs) and Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8 years' experience in product/service/project/program management OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management for the underlying platform of a commercial technology product.
  • 5+ years of Project Management skills with experience managing largescale, complex projects with crossfunctional teams.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10 years' experience in product/service/project/program management OR equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Scaleout systems for operational or analytical data processing.
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS and GCP public clouds.
  • Experience working in large scale and complex deployments.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fastpaced environment.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Executive presence, leadership, communication skills in influencing customers and senior executives.
