This is a remote position.
Our client is a biotech start-up founded in 2021 by a prestigious European biotech research institute and their venture partners.
With their lead program currently in the lead optimisation phase, scheduled to move into clinical trials by 2025, they have a unique opportunity to impact CNS therapeutics significantly.
To drive this exciting phase of the business, they seek an exceptional life sciences CEO with business and operational skills, plus scientific understanding, ideally in CNS or neurology, to join the existing scientific founder and board members.
Responsibilities:
As the incoming CEO, your core responsibilities will include:
- Developing the overall strategy and vision
- Establish a lab space and office
- Building the company and core team over the next 12 months
- Raising a Series A financing round by Q1 202
- Establishing connections with venture capitalists & pharma partners
- Solidifying collaboration with academic researchers
Requirements:
- Qualifications_
- Life sciences degree (MSc, MD, or PhD) in biology, medicine, or biotech R&D
- Business degree (MBA, MSc in Management, or equivalent experience)
- Experience_
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in biotech
- Leadership role in a biotech company (startup to corporate) or technology transfer
- Existing networks in biotech, pharma and CROs
- Active networks with academics, clinicians & KOLs
- Prior experience fundraising with venture capital firms
- Skills_
- Strong communication & networking skills
- Budget and financial planning skills
- Strong operational and project management skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
