Site Manager - (M/F/d):

BayWa r.e. Projects España S.L.U. - a wholly-owned subsidiary of BayWa r.e.

AG - is responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects in Spain & Portugal.

Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Spain and are currently looking for a Site Manager (M/F/d) for the Wind Market.


What You Will Do:

  • You manage the construction of our Wind Farms in Spain, from the start of construction to the final commissioning and Hand Over to O&M department ("Operations and Maintenance").

That includes but is not limited to:

  • You will be the contact person from BayWa r.e. on site. You will represent and defend BayWa r.e. interests in front of subcontractors, landowners, public organisms, investors and any other project stakeholder.
  • You will lead BayWa r.e. Site Management team (QA, HSE, Commissioning).
  • You will know in detail the EPC and TSA contracts and will ensure their implementation on site.
  • You will coordinate the contractor's activities with the goal of preventing or minimizing the interferences between different activities that could arise during the construction works.
  • You will ensure the control, supervision and compliance with the contractual requirements of the subcontractor ́s activities regarding quality, HSE and schedule, identifying deviations and requesting the relevant corrective measures.
  • You will ensure that only IFC documents are used for construction activities. You will manage the document control of redmarked documents so that traceability can be ensured up to the asbuilt status.
  • You will identify potential risks and opportunities that may have an impact on the execution of the project.
  • You will control and validate contractual changes arising during the execution of the construction activities.
  • You will validate the fulfillment of the conditions related to construction payment milestones.
  • You will elaborate and present to the Project Manager periodic site reports.
  • You will lead the site meetings with the contractors and other stakeholders.
  • You will participate in the team meetings with the rest of BayWa r.e. project team.
  • In collaboration with the "Coordinador de Seguridad y Salud" you will lead the implementation of the HSE culture on site, performing HSE inspections and audits to ensure that the construction activities are performed according to the HSE requirements defined in the HSE Plan making sure that HSE inductions are conducted before any person is allowed to start working on site.
  • You will play an active role during the HSE and CAE ("Coordinación de Actividades Empresariales") meetings.
  • You will inform the Project Manager immediately in case of any accident.
  • You will followup on the resolution of punchlist items before the handover to the O&M department.
  • You will support the Project Manager during the handover of the project to the O&M department.
  • You will identify and share with the Project Team lessons learned.

What You Bring:

  • You are an industrial, civil, electrical engineer or have similar background.
  • You have relevant work experience between 35 years in the management of construction sites. Preferably wind farms.
  • You have fluent Spanish and English skills.
  • You are well versed in MS Office, Project, Cad.
  • You have a growth mindset. You are willing to learn from mistakes instead of placing blame on others, improve and rise to the challenge.
  • You have leadership skills and are willing to support the team and work together towards a common goal.
  • Committed and proactive person with the ability to adapt to a dynamic, fluid and goaloriented environment.
