Position:


The ECF's Spain programme aims to advance domestic policies that drive emissions cuts in the real economy and to strengthen Spain's diplomatic influence at the European and global levels.

This programme aims to build political will for more ambitious action on climate change; and to develop solutions to the policy and practical challenges to decarbonisation of the entire economy.


To this end, the ECF's Spain programme
is seeking Team assistant to provide day to day administrative and operational support to the Team (8/9 people).

The post will gradually be able to explore potential areas for the development of the Programme, build a key network of stakeholders (both internally and externally) in the climate change sphere and develop a strong base of sector & public policy knowledge, as well as contribute to the regular discussions regarding the direction and strategy of the Programme.


The person will be part of the ECF's Spain Programme and report to the ECF's Spain Director, working closely with the rest of the Spain team in their day-to-day activities.

Specifically, their responsibilities will include:


  • General administrative support to the team and, particularly, the Programme director
  • Management of the database of the Spain Programme network and design and develop internal materials for communication with and within the network (announcements, newsletters, etc.)
  • Support event planning and coordinate team's annual meetings (x2) and incountry and regional workshops
  • Schedule multilateral calls and meetings with external and internal stakeholders and assist with agendasetting and minute taking
  • Assist in the reviewal of grant proposals and evaluation of grantee reports, gradually becoming involved in the grantmaking process of the Programme
  • Occasional deskbased research or translation (Spanish-English projects) duties
  • Responsible for information management for the team and ensuring team members keep uptodate centralised notes and files, using SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and Slack
  • Organize and manage logistics for country visits, meetings, and conferences, including venue bookings, travel arrangements and invoices
  • Support the team to adhere to ECF guidelines and procedures on all operational matters
  • Assist onboarding of team members
  • Handle the processing of invoices and expense reports
  • Assistance in office management duties

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of the ECF;
  • 12 years of experience in a similar function;
  • A university degree in a relevant discipline, or a similar level of knowledge proven by work experience;
  • A strong interest in the development and administration of processes in a team while you share our passion for the climate and the environment;
  • You consider yourself to be a completer/finisher and you have strong attention to detail
  • You are a proactive and enthusiastic team player, but also able to work independently and to prioritise tasks in a fastmoving work environment;
  • You have strong problemsolving skills with a positive, cando attitude
  • You enjoy juggling various tasks and working with numbers and you are able to prioritize effectively
  • You are computer literate and are at ease with the MS Office suite
  • Fluent in Spanish and excellent command of spoken and written English
  • You have the ability to work as part of a team, to foster fruitful relationships and to collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally;
  • You have the disposition to work with colleagues in a hightrust international community of peers with a spirit of generosity, humility and mutual support.
