We work with more than 4,000 automotive retailers to help drivers pay for auto expenses, accessories, and other services with a variety of different payment options.

Bumper is a rapidly growing payment scale, and we're excited to continue building on our growth by recently completing a successful Series B funding round.

Our head office is in Sheffield City Centre, England, with an additional office in London.

We have recently brought together retailers in Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands and are planning to expand further into Europe and even beyond.

Here comes world dominationOur Engineering Team is located in our office in Ankara, Turkey. We are looking for great Senior Backend Engineer candidates who will be exactly a part of this amazing team.

You want more information about the role, right?As our new Senior Backend Engineer, you report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems to support the functionality and scalability of our platform.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions,
  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable, and maintainable backend systems, and APIs,
  • Conducting code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices,
  • Providing timely solutions to troubleshoot complex technical issues, debug them, and minimize their impact on the platform,
  • Being able to divide work into small outputs and actively delegate work to more than one team member,
  • Mentoring young engineers by encouraging a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team,
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends by proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities of our platform.
Qualifications

  • Having advanced knowledge of Python and Django,
  • At least five years of experience working with SQL databases,
  • Expert in software design principles and experience in REST APIs,
  • Practice using Git and the ability to overcome technical problems encountered in Git, etc.,
  • Expert level knowledge of a functional area of Bumper or a language, framework, or part of the technology stack we use to build Bumper,
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills in English.
