About Tradebe | Tradebe is a leading, global company in the environmental sector. Tradebe Environmental Services serves various markets including industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, etc.

Tradebe is hiring a Finance Director (FD), **who will be a member of the executive team/committee of the business based in our global headquarters in Barcelona (Sant Joan Despí). The FD directly reports to the CEO/MD of the business and functionally to the CFO.

Working alongside the CEO/MD, the rest of the executive team, the CFO, and the Global Finance Team, the FD plays an operational and strategic role for the business unit Spain (Including France and Italy markets), and is responsible to:
(1) contributing fully to the
development of business and group strategy,

(2) overseeing and preserving the
financial performance of the business and managing the
[financial] risk of the business,

(3) ensuring
the statutory compliance of all the financial practices of the business,

(4) leading and overseeing
the finance, tax and risk management (insurance and internal control ) functions, processes/systems and teams of the business and

(5) developing strong internal and external
working relationships and
representing the business in front of its stakeholders.


The FD is responsible to manage a team of 3-5 FTE direct reports, 15-20 FTE hierarchical reporting, and 25-30 FTE Functional reporting.


Main Responsabilities:

1. Business and Group Strategy.

  • Provide strategic advice and support on business initiatives and daily operations. Work with senior teams to profitably grow the business, formulating strategies and plans, challenging assumptions and decisionmaking as appropriate, providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.
  • Define and propose initiatives to optimize the business financial performance and strategic position of the business.

This includes:

  • In coordination with the CFO and the Global Finance Team, the definition of the
    operational financial strategy for the profitable longterm growth of the business.

M&A. Leading the financial, tax, insurance, and legal areas within M&A and business reorganization processes (including DD, negotiation, integration plan,..).

Debt&Funding. Supporting the CFO and the Global Finance Team in Debt&Funding initiatives/exercises and investors relations.

Global Tax and Insurance. Supporting the CFO and the Global Finance Team in global Tax and Risk Management (Insurance and Internal Control) matters and strategy.

2. Financial performance and health and Risk Management

  • Retain constant awareness and provide full and timely visibility of the business' financial position, performance, profitability and cash flow generation.
  • Drive and provide the financial planning of the business by analysing its performance and risks.
  • Identify areas of risk and problems and act to prevent and solve them.
  • Provide cash flow analysis and working capital and cash management of the business (in coordination with the business and the Global Finance Team).
  • Preserve consistency across the business.

Statutory, regulatory, legal, and contractual compliance:

  • Ensure that the regulatory and contractual requirements of all statutory bodies and third parties are met and honoured.
- [Audited] individual and consolidated (as the case may be) Statutory Accounts to be submitted to the Board of Directors, Shareholders, and stakeholders (i.e. information obligations, investors, banks,..).

4. Finance, tax, and Risk Management (insurance, and Internal Control) functions, processes/systems, and teams

  • Lead, provide direction and develop the finance function (teams, strategies, processes, policies, and systems ). This includes leadership and team development.
  • Take overall control of the company's budget, planning/forecasting & analysis (PFA), accounting, financial control, credit control, internal control, taxation, and insurance functions within the business.
  • Manage group/business policies, priorities, and initiatives regarding capital requirements and cash needs and preserve consistency across the business.
  • Ensure that the business financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Actively participate and support during the transition from our existing ERP (SAP ECC on premise) to the business new ERP (RISE SAP S/4HANA Cloud). Target Go Live 2025/2026.

5. Relationships and representation role.

  • Build a close and strong working relationship with the CEO/MD, CFO and other Senior Executives and Non-Executives (including other FD within the group and the Global Finance Team).
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with internal and external parties including customers, suppliers, vendors, and advisors.
