Central Civil Engineer

Mission

Coordinate the overall engineering activity to oversee the design and development process of European platform renewable projects.

  • ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT & PROJECT DESIGN:
  • Develop engineering and design activities in different project phases: initial permitting and basic engineering, advanced permitting and detailed engineering, tendering processes for construction for different European geographies. Supervise technical feasibility of designs ensuring EDPR technical standards and project-specific conditions.
  • Ensure strong communication between local E&C teams and Corporate Areas to facilitate exchange of information, implement change and improvements, and best practices.
  • ENGINEERING TRANSVERSAL SUPPORT:
  • Support the development of specifications for basic and executive projects performed by local engineering teams; supervise their technical adequacy, ensuring compliance with EDPR standards and specific project requirements in close coordination with Corporate areas.
  • Provide technical support in tender processes and assist E&C local engineering teams and Purchasing Department in negotiation to guarantee the best technical-economic conditions in the awarding.
  • Support local teams during engineering project execution, particularly civil infrastructures, coordinating with Operational Support and Technology for necessary assistance.
  • SPECIALIZED STUDIES COORDINATION:
  • Coordinate and validate the execution of specific key studies (Topography, geotechnical study, foundation design, etc.) for integration into the engineering project to minimize construction-related risks.
  • SUPPORT TO M&A PROCESS:

Collaborate with other areas to conduct Technical Due Diligences for acquiring projects at different development levels, performing project evaluation, Capex estimations, basic engineering, and necessary studies.

PROVIDERS AND SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT: Establish relationships with main suppliers and providers across the value chain to incorporate the most efficient technical and economical options into engineering designs for each site. STANDARDIZATION: Ensure the application of common standards in studies and projects, supervising their adaptation to applicable local regulations to maximize investment efficiency with necessary technical assurance. Challenge the applicability of Technical Standards and verify deviations to ensure project technical solvency and technical-economic efficiency. Initiate and develop innovative engineering processes. COMPANY POLICY AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Understand and apply policies to prevent occupational hazards, environmental issues, and ensure quality compliance in tasks under their responsibility. EDPR INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION: Represent EDPR to relevant agencies and institutions in matters related to jurisdiction to advocate for EDPR's interests.

Required Profile

  • Qualification:
  • Master's degree in civil engineering required.
  • A postgraduate in Renewable Energies is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar position, with at least 4 years in Onshore Wind Farms.
  • Experience in planning, design, and engineering for at least 5 years is necessary.
  • Experience in managing, supervising engineering projects, coordinating with teams and external companies.
  • Experience in civil engineering: roads, drainage, foundations, and preliminary studies coordination.
  • International project management experience desired.
  • Renewable Energy experience required.
  • Specific requirements:
  • Knowledge of Wind Farms (Roads, platforms, foundation) is a must.
  • Knowledge of PV Plants, High Voltage Lines, and Electrical Substations projects is desirable.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MSOffice.
  • Knowledge of International technical standards.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English (Portuguese and others are a plus).
