Overview: This role involves sourcing materials and components, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with project timelines and budgets. The Project Buyer works closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and project management, to support the successful delivery of automotive components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute purchasing plans to support project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project specifications and timelines.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to supply chain and procurement.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- Monitor and control project purchasing costs to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and components to the project site.
- Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Support the resolution of any technical issues related to procured materials or components.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Experience in managing purchasing for specific projects or programs.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity working with Cost Breakdown, nominating suppliers for all components of the BOM, and following up from PPAP until SOP.
