Held is actively seeking a
Consultant /
Senior Consultant for its Construction Advisory Team, specialising in claims and construction dispute resolution, based in Madrid.

This position is for a professional who has a minimum of 5 years experience working in a leading international contracting organisation or an owner organisation with international project portfolio.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and/or review claims in construction and engineering projects;
  • Implement and develop contract management processes in projects;
  • Take part in preparation of expert witness reports;
  • Select appropriate analysis methodologies with guidance of manager, assist in commission reviews and identifying claim strategy;
  • Demonstrate ability to deliver concise and compelling event chronologies, draft completed sections of Claim Reports;
  • Review facts, correspondence and project control records to prepare quantifications of claims;
  • Utilise appropriate structure and format of Report
  • Peer review, critique and edit work involved in commission
  • Provide real time feedback on work product and other activities to allocated resources and upstream to manager, ensure allocated Commission elements are completed on time and on budget

Required qualifications/experience

  • A recognized undergraduate degree in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management or similar from a leading university;
  • Minimum 310 years onsite or project construction experience with engineering or construction firms, or a construction claim/dispute firm;
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Ability to sporadicly travel
  • Familiarity with claims and/or expert witness work, or exposure to arbitration processes is preferred
