AG - is responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects in Spain & Portugal.
Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Spain and are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our Wind Team.
About the role
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the engineering of the project.
They shall obtain a detailed technical study/project from engineering subcontractors, according to needs of the project (in time and form) to which it is assigned, to guarantee the development of the contractual scope of the project.
The IP shall coordinate the development of the technical studies/projects generated by suppliers, to guarantee its performance and progress according to the contractual scope.
They will ensure the edition in date and contents of the technical documentation for purchases, both technical specification and technical assessment.
They shall create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance and to secure the implementation of technical standards in all the projects.
What You Will Do- Perform the design activities in the first project cycle phases: initial permitting and basic engineering, advanced permitting, tendering processes for construction and detailed engineering.
- Coordinate and validate with other Units the execution of specific key studies (collector system, reactive power compensation, foundation design, noises, or others) for its integration in the engineering project, to minimize the risk associated to the construction process.
- Technical Studies Contract Management. Compliance with the SoW, MDL Monitoring, Advancement certification monitoring and schedule
- Report to the Technical Manager the degree of progress, next steps, critical points, important actions and lessons learned during the development of the projects.
- Support the elaboration of the specifications for basic and executive projects that the project engineering teams perform; supervise the technical adequacy.
- Provide technical support in the tender processes and assists project teams and Purchasing Department in the adjudication negotiation to guarantee the best technicaleconomic conditions in the awarding.
- Ensure strong communication between project teams to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements.
- Support the projects teams along the engineering projects execution, coordinating with the Technical Advisor if required the needed support.
- Collaborate with other Areas to perform Technical Due Diligences to acquire projects in different levels of Development, performing project evaluation, basic engineering and needed studies.
- Engineering & Construction best practices definition and implementation. Challenge Technical Standards applicability and verify and justify deviations from them, in order to assure the technical solvency and the technicaleconomic efficiency of the projects.
- Propose ideas for improvement to increase efficiency in processes.
- Represent BayWa r.e. to agencies and institutions, public and private, in matters relating to its jurisdiction to enforce the interests of BayWa r.e.
- You have a masters of Science (Civil Engineering or similar). A postgraduate in Renewable Energies will be valued.
- At least 35 years of experience as an engineer in renewable energy projects (wind) or performing similar functions to those described in the position.
- Previous experience in wind farm works in the areas of production or quality. (PV Plants, High Voltages Lines and Electrical Substations will be positively valued).
- Experience using AutoCad, ArcGIS, MSOffice.
- Knowledge of Spanish technical normative
- Languages: Spanish and English (Portuguese and others is a plus)
- Ability to perform duties in a collaborative, multinational working environment.
- Strong statistical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Problem solving and openminded attitude.
- Proactivity, flexibility and adaptation to change.
