RavenPack is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Development Team, offering you a transition to Cloud DBA.

Join RavenPack and assist in managing knowledge extracted from a multitude of documents daily, all in real-time. You will handle large datasets, design and maintain schemas, and optimize queries to ensure our system's 99.99% uptime across a multi-terabyte setup.

As a DBA, you will report directly to the Database Manager and collaborate with an international team of developers skilled in SQL, Python, Java, Common Lisp, and Cloud technologies, ensuring goals are met cost-effectively.

You will oversee vast amounts of data, focusing on implementing best practices to maintain operational, reliable, accessible, scalable, and secure databases. Researching, designing, and implementing technologies and processes, while ensuring data consistency through backups and troubleshooting issues will be key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Evaluate new database technologies for integration
  • Analyze loading and maintaining large datasets effectively
  • Administer, configure, and analyze queries for improvements with Oracle
  • Manage data backups and participate in on-call rotation shifts

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Linux DBA experience with vast data in the cloud or equivalent
  • Proficient in ETL, backup, and restore
  • Knowledge of relational (MySQL, Oracle, Postgres), OLAP (RedShift, Presto, Snowflake), and non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • Oracle experience in query administration and configuration

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or similar
  • Professional Linux Sys Admin experience
  • Understanding of network design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with ElasticSearch, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark

Candidates without Cloud experience are encouraged to apply, willing to learn.
