In this role, you will provide engineering and due diligence support for AWS's new and existing projects related to water infrastructure.
This particular role will concentrate on expansion into new regions and deep diving Colocation sites for water data.
You'll be involved in deep diving water assets, treatment and metering solutions - understanding and communicating water chemistry risks, corrosion and performance issues and ensuring data visibility for reporting needs.
The role needs water chemistry understanding, project management and a bias for action to overcome challenges, drive solutions and implement improvements with partner teams.
Job responsibilitiesAs an AWS Water Infrastructure Engineer you'll be responsible for the following:
- Working with Colocation and internal stakeholders to understand and confirm site water requirements under due diligence.
- Working with local consultants to understand and confirm site water requirements under due diligence. Where water supplies require a strategic approach in a region, ability to prepare development master plans for growth and to minimize impact of developments.
- Work with internal GX engineering, operations, real estate and risk and resiliency teams to manage water and wastewater service delivery at new and existing facilities.
- Supporting other water team members to deliver water and wastewater services offsite to new and existing AWS facilities. This may include the development and implementation of process engineering solutions in rural areas that often lack adequate water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Ensuring that all water systems at existing sites are operating effectively and will not adversely impact operations.
- Identifying and develop projects and initiatives related to water infrastructure and supply that enhance resiliency, increase water stewardship and/or reduce expenditure.
- Deep dive into Colocated (Colo) locations in regions to understand and detail water related risks to operations and to water stewardship goals.
- Work on concurrent projects in multiple regions.
- Assist in masterplaning water requirements on new sites and the management of engineering consultants and/or contractors to ensure the timely delivery of improved water infrastructure.
- Where required within the team, support AWS operations and engineering teams to operate, optimize and troubleshoot water related issues.
- Develop waterbased metrics, review and communicate performance to technical teams, and be a key contact for all issues pertaining to water infrastructure.

- Experience with fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects and ability to work with multiple stakeholders with varied requirements.
- Analytical mindset that can identify gaps in requirements during project development, predict performance, and have the ability to provide recommendations on a short notice and with limited information.
- Business experience in Europe, LATAM and/or Middle East.
