The Cellular Systems Genomics Group, established at the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute (IJC) in 2021, aims to revolutionize cell-based immunotherapies. Utilizing state-of-the-art single-cell technologies, drug repurposing, and artificial intelligence, they focus on intricate cellular responses to identify high-risk patients and tailor therapeutic strategies. Their research emphasizes the single-cell molecular characterization of blood cells in B-cell leukemias, lymphomas, and multiple myeloma, particularly the role of CAR T-cells in personalized immunotherapies. By dissecting complex tissues in health and disease, they develop computational methods and machine learning tools to enhance the understanding of large-scale single-cell multi-omics datasets, contributing to large international consortia such as the Human Cell Atlas, while promoting open science and diversity.Your profileThe Cellular Systems Genomics group is seeking an exceptionally motivated Data Analyst to contribute to our pioneering work in single-cell genomics within biomedical research. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate eager to hone their professional expertise at the confluence of data analysis, machine learning, and single-cell genomics, significantly impacting personalized medicine. The ideal candidate will be a visionary with a robust computational foundation and proven experience applying machine learning to vast datasets. A solid grasp of biology, mathematics, and statistics is essential, with a preference for those experienced in single-cell transcriptomics and chromatin accessibility data analysis. BSc in Computational Biology, Genomics, Data Science, or a related field, with a special emphasis on candidates from quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, physics, computer science, and engineering.Proficiency in programming with R and Python is mandatory.A demonstrable high level of motivation and a keen interest in biomedical research.Excellent communication skills. An open-minded, adaptable, and cooperative approach to interdisciplinary work.Fluency in English is a must. Why us?Part-time contract20h/weekTraining contract (1 year) Contrato para la obtención de la práctica profesional. The selected candidate will be welcomed into a dynamic and supportive position. You'll integrate into a youthful and international team, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies alongside interdisciplinary experts from the realms of medicine, biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. With access to the IJC's core facilities, including genomics, proteomics, and a dedicated single-cell unit equipped with a Chromium Controller, you'll have the resources to delve into pioneering single-cell and spatial genomics research.
