- Position Description
The Director will be responsible for:
- Directing, promoting and supervising all the activities of the Institute, following the guidelines established by the Board of Trustees, and with the advice of the Scientific Council.
- Hiring the personnel at the service of the Institute and acting as their hierarchical superior.
- Coordinating the elaboration of the action plans of the Institute, determining its needs and resources, as well as the necessary means to achieve the aims of the Institute.
- Formulating the formal budget and annual accounts.
- Requirements and eligibility criteria
- Leadership and management skills. Experience in management of R&D centers.
- Scientific and technological capacity in the area of networking.
- Capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship in the area. Contribution to the transformation of the socioeconomic ecosystem of networking.
- Capacity for communication and dissemination of scientific and technological advances in networking.
- High level of English and Spanish are required for this position.
- Having an MBA or equivalent experience (in addition to having a PhD in the networking field).
- Knowledge of the Spanish and European R&D ecosystems, including their funding bodies and regulations.
- Expertise not only in research but also in the deployment and adoption of key networking technologies such as 5G or 6G.
- Proven experience in leading highvolume R&D activities involving large budgets, efforts and teams is a must for this position.
In accordance with the Institute's Bylaws, the Director shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees among persons of prestige in the field of networking, qualified for the position and with demonstrable experience in directing groups, projects and institutions.
