About the position:

As the Southern Medical Manager at Aegon, your primary role involves overseeing healthcare services in Andalusia, Extremadura, the Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla.

Your main responsibility is to ensure the provision of medical services to inpatients in your area meets quality standards and is cost-effective.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage inpatient control processes in your area, including reviewing daily admission lists, assessing stay appropriateness, and checking incoming invoices.
  • Visit major hospitals in your area to inspect admissions, ensuring quality care, appropriate resource usage, and accurate invoicing.
  • Support the Zone Medical Manager in Contracting processes and manage medical provision-related aspects in your area.
  • Monitor medical expenses, analyze discrepancies based on expense reports, and help implement corrective measures in line with Zone Medical Manager guidelines.
  • Achieve the assigned management objectives within the Medical Management area.
  • Provide regular inpatient reports to the management.
  • Periodically visit key healthcare providers in the area to maintain service quality and meet expense goals.
  • Address and resolve hospital and professional staff requests promptly.
  • Handle and resolve insured individuals' complaints and claims regarding healthcare services in your area.
  • Keep hospital medical rosters up to date, at least biannually.
  • Collaborate with other Company departments on matters relating to your responsibilities within your area.

Your skills:

  • Nursing background with value on other healthcare-related qualifications.
  • 3+ years of experience in Medical Management within the Health Insurance sector.
  • Hands-on hospital experience.
  • Management training is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI for data management.
  • Experience in report generation.
  • Knowledge of the health insurance sector.
  • Proactive and dynamic approach.
  • Team player attitude is a must.
  • Good English proficiency (not mandatory).
  • Presentation skills.
  • Frequent travel availability.
  • Own car and driving license required.
  • Residency in the area is a plus.
